Contract Administrator – Crude Oil Marketing (12 Month Contract)

The Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission (APMC) is seeking a Contract Administrator to join its Marketing team in Calgary. The Contract Administrator will be responsible for all contract administration activities supporting the marketing of the Province’s Crude Oil Royalty In-Kind (CORIK) program. 

The successful candidate must demonstrate a high sense of personal accountability and ownership of the execution of their duties and thrive in a collaborative, high-performing team environment.   

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of a contract management system and ensure all documentation is approved and executed at the appropriate level in compliance with DOA. Act as liaison with internal and external counterparties and counsel on contractual matters;
  • Review, confirm, and input contractual details; work with crude oil marketer and schedulers to resolve any discrepancies as well as ensure all contracts are appropriately returned to counterparties and filed by contract management policies;
  • Interact with both internal and external parties in written, electronic, or face-to-face format politely and professionally;
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with regard to business information the individual is exposed to in the course of regular duties;

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, finance, or information systems.
  • 2+ years’ direct work experience with or within the oil and gas commercial business.
  • Background and knowledge across commercial functional areas (Deal Capture, Contracts, Scheduling, Risk, and Invoicing & Accounting) highly valued.
  • Exposure to other segments of the energy industry would contribute to your success in the role (natural gas, liquids, petrochemicals, foreign exchange, tax, legal, etc.)
